TALLY - Insurance Cover Guidelines

If you have bought Tally 8.1 in the offer period, you are eligible for a Insurance Cover worth Rs. 5 Lakhs. This document titled the Insurance Coverage Guideline (ICG) will provide you a brief understanding of the Insurance Cover and the procedure to avail the insurance.

  • Insurance Cover

    The Insurance Cover has the following break-up:


    Rs. 2,00,000 for Standard Fire & Special Perils for Building & Contents* (In case you do not own the building, your contents will be insured for the amount of Rs. 2 Lakhs.)


    Under Standard Fire & Special Perils, your building and contents are insured against damage due to following perils:

    • Fire, Lightning, Explosion/Implosion, Bush Fire, Impact Damage, Aircraft Damage, Bursting/Overflowing of Water Tanks/Pipes/Apparatus, Sprinkler Leakage, Storm, Cyclone, Typhoon, Tempest, Hurricane, Tornado, Flood, Inundation Subsidence, Land Sliding including Rockslide, Riots, Strikes, Malicious Damage, Missile Testing Operations.

    Rs. 2,00,000 for Burglary & House Breaking Perils for Contents

    Under Burglary & House Breaking Perils, your contents are insured against:

    • Theft following a forcible and violent entry into or exit from the insured premises by the person or persons committing such theft

    Rs. 1,00,000 for Burglary & House Breaking for Cash in Safe

    Under Cash in Safe Insurance, your cash kept in a safe or in a locked steel cupboard is insured against:

    • Burglary i.e. theft following a forcible entry or exit from the insured premises by a person or persons committing such theft.
    • Money (cash) lying in a safe or in a locked steel cupboard of the customer is insured under this insurance.

    Exclusion: Jewellery, gold, valuable ornaments etc., are not covered under this insurance. Money in transit (outside office) that may be for deposit/withdrawal from the bank is not covered under this insurance.


  • Eligibility for Insurance Cover
    • The Insurance Offer is valid only for Tally 8.1 customers during the offer period of 16th Aug 2006 and 31st March 2007.
    • All customers who meet ALL OF THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS will be eligible for the insurance cover:
      • Activate their Tally 8.1 software license during the offer period
      • Register their copy of the software on www.tallysolutions.com anytime during the offer period, and seek for the insurance offer
    • This offer is applicable on all TallySilver and TallyGold licenses that comply with the above stated conditions of usage, regardless of the number of licenses purchased by a single customer.
    • The offer can be redeemed only once on a single identified Serial Number

    The insurance offer is available on the customers' office that is covered under the definition of 'office' i.e. a business premise where

    • No stocks are kept, and
    • No manufacturing/production/servicing is done nor is it located in a compound where manufacturing / production / servicing is done, and
    • No trading is done

    By way of examples, following business premises, including offices within these premises, do not come under the definition of 'office':-

    • Software Companies
    • BPOs
    • Manufacturing Units
    • Shops
    • Cafes, Restaurants, Hotels

    Tally customers who do not have an office, can avail of this insurance offer for their homes i.e. residence building and contents


  • How to Avail This Insurance

    Tally customers who have bought a fresh license of Tally 8.1 need to 'activate' your Tally 8.1 from the software and visit http://experts.tallysolutions.com/CustReg.php to register online by accepting the terms and conditions. Once the software is 'activated' and 'registered' on the Tally website, the insurance cover, subject to the terms and conditions of the Master Policy being complied with by Tally, will become valid for a period of one year from the date of 'registration'.


    Risk Address
    It is very important that customers provide their complete and correct 'risk address' (the 'office' address or the 'home' address, as applicable), because an incorrect / incomplete address may result in invalid registration and eventually the customers with wrong / incomplete address will not be covered under the insurance.


    Certificate of Insurance
    A certificate of Insurance will be sent to the customer's risk address within 30 days of registration on the Tally Website. In case of customers who do not receive the certificate of insurance within 30 days, they need to contact TATA AIG General Insurance Company Ltd with their respective Tally Serial Number on the TATA AIG General Insurance Company Ltd Toll Free Number @ 1800 11 99 66 or email info.tally@tata-aig.com or contact nearest TATA-AIG General Insurance Company Ltd. Office.


  • Claim Settlement Process

    In event of loss, customers must contact TATA AIG General Insurance Company Ltd with completed 'Claim Form' and all the required documents. Documents required to be submitted for claim settlement include:

    • Standard Fire & Special Perils - Claim form, FIR, Fire Brigade Report, Any other document called for by the surveyor/insurer.
    • Burglary & Housebreaking Perils - Claim form, FIR, FR, any other document called for by the surveyor/insurer.
    • Money (CASH - IN- SAFE) - Claim form, FIR, FR, any other documents called for by the surveyor/insurer.

  • Terms & Conditions
    • Customers need not pay any premium to Tata AIG for the first year of Insurance as the same is being extended as a part of Tally Solutions' Scheme. Tally will be paying premium to Tata AIG upon which the insurance will commence.
    • Insurance is a subject matter of solicitation. Tata AIG reserves the right to accept / reject issue of insurance to individual customers
    • Tata AIG needs to be contacted for all insurance related queries, claims or any other insurance matters.
    • Tata AIG is responsible to settle any claims as per terms and conditions of the policy cover and as per IRDA regulation.
    • Tally Solutions is in no way responsible for any matters related to the insurance, (other than communicating the activated registration of customers in their website to Tata AIG and handing over the premium cheque favouring Tata AIG) or the claims.
    • The insurance cover will be valid for a period of one year from the date of 'registration' on Tally Website. The insurance cover will expire after the expiry of one year.
    • Customers may directly approach Tata AIG for buying a new Insurance Cover after the expiry of this Insurance Cover, and for enhancing the cover. It will be the sole discretion of Tata AIG to enhance or accept any such cover.
    • The Insurance combo cover offer of 'Peace of Mind' scheme cannot be modified to suit individual customers.
    • All customers who have bought / are buying Tally 8.1 between 16th August 2006 and 31st March 2007. but not 'activated' and 'registered' in the specified period, will not be eligible for the Insurance Cover.

    • Tally (India) Pvt Ltd and Tata AIG General Insurance Company Limited reserve the right to change/ modify/ withdraw/ suspend/cancel this offer without prior notice and without assigning any reason.
    • The eligible customers can insure only one property per unique 'serial number'
    • Tally (India) Pvt. Ltd. does not hold any warranty or make any representation of the delivery, quality, merchantability or suitability of the insurance and / or any other products / services as may be offered related to the Insurance.
    • The eligible Tally Customer hereby understands and gives his / her irrevocable consent for information relating to the registration / address of the customer to be communicated to Tata AIG General Insurance Company Limited.
    • The Tally customer hereby agrees and undertakes not to hold Tally and/or or any of their group entities or affiliates, their respective directors, officers, employees, agents, vendors, responsible for or liable for, any actions, claims, demands, losses, damages, costs, charges and expenses that the Tally customer may/might have suffered, sustained or incurred, or claims to suffer, sustain or incur, by way of and /or on account of the present Offer.
    • The Tally customer cannot resell the insurance or redeem the offer for cash. There is no cash alternative for this offer.
    • No cancellation or change of risk address is possible, after the customer has 'registered' online with Tally.
    • The terms and conditions during the registration process and other terms, information stated in the peace of mind offer also form part of the terms and conditions of this offer.
    • Any person taking advantage of this promotion will do so by accepting the Terms and Conditions, along with the terms and conditions of the Master Policy. Claims that do not comply with such Terms and Conditions may, at Tata AIG's sole discretion, be disqualified. The Insurance Terms and Conditions are subject to Indian Law and the exclusive jurisdiction of the Indian Courts.
    • The offer is valid only in India and is available for customers in India who wish to avail the Insurance Cover offered through 'Peace of Mind' campaign, who have bought or are buying Tally 8.1 16/08/2006 to 31/03/2007.
